It’s a dog’s life for some, especially in Mac DeMarco’s new video for ‘This Old Dog’

The title track of his upcoming new album now has a suitably canine clip to go along with things

Imagine a world where every human has the head of a dog. Now imagine a gliding, sweet hook of a track to soundtrack it. Together, you most certainly have the new video from Mac DeMarco for ‘This Old Dog’

With plenty of surreal looks and masks galore, the clip was shot by Mac himself in LA and captures everything important about the man himself. He’s having a ball of a time, and he wants to take everyone with him.

Speaking about the clip, Mac explains:

“A devoted dog discovers the meaning of its own existence through the lives of the humans it teaches to laugh and love. Reincarnated as multiple canines over the course of five decades, the lovable pooch develops an unbreakable bond with a kindred spirit named Ethan. As the boy grows older and comes to a crossroad, the dog once again comes back into his life to remind him of his true self.”

Get that Oscar ready, we know where this one is heading.

Mac DeMarco is set to release the similarly named new album ‘This Old Dog’ on May 5th, before embarking around the globe on a mammoth run of live dates. These include two nights at London’s Brixton Academy and nights in Edinburgh and Newcastle before a headline slot at this year’s End Of The Road.
