The BBC Sound of 2018 list is counting down all this week, whittling their list of 15 newcomers down to just five top spots.
Yesterday it was announced that Dork cover stars Pale Waves (order your copy of the issue below) have come in at Number 5, and today it’s Khalid’s turn – he’s Number 4.
Remaining nominees in with a chance of going top three include ALMA, Sigrid, Billie Eilish, IAMDDB, Jade Bird, Lewis Capaldi, Nilüfer Yanya, Not3s, Rex Orange County, Sam Fender, Tom Walker, Yaeji and Yxng Bane.
Voted for by a panel of music industry “experts”, previous winners include the likes of Adele, Haim, Sam Smith and Years & Years… as well as Mika, The Bravery, Keane and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Congratulations to @thegreatkhalid, who has been placed at No. 4 in the #SoundOf2018 shortlist ?
Khalid had an incredible 2017, with his debut album being released, a VMA Award, touring with Lorde and much more – but this is just the beginning.
