Laura Marling announces new album ‘Semper Femina’

There’s a new video and tour, too.

Laura Marling has revealed she’ll release a new album early next year.

Due on 10th March, her sixth full-length ‘Semper Femina’ is accompanied by Laura’s directorial debut – check out her video for lead single ‘Soothing’ below.

“I started out writing ‘Semper Femina’ as if a man was writing about a woman, and then I thought; ‘it’s not a man, it’s me’,” Laura says. “I don’t need to pretend it’s a man to justify the intimacy, or the way I’m looking and feeling about women. It’s me looking specifically at women and feeling great empathy towards them, and by proxy, towards myself’.”

As well as the new album and new video, there’s also a tour:

MARCH
8 O2 Academy, Leeds
9 Colston Hall, Bristol
10 O2 ABC, Glasgow
12 Albert Hall, Manchester
13 O2 Academy, Oxford
14 Institute, Birmingham

18 City Hall, Salisbury

The album was recorded in LA in late 2015, and produced alongside US musician/producer Blake Mills. Tickets for the tour are on sale now when pre-ordering the album via live.lauramarling.com, or on general sale from Friday 2nd December.
