Hey, Dear Reader. Did you know we’re two years old?
Yeah, we’d sort of forgotten too, but as our first issue had July 2016 slapped across its cover, and we’re about to drop the 2018 vintage, we guess we’re about to enter our terrible phase.
Shut up. No. You’re terrible.
One thing that’s not terrible is this month’s awesome cover stars, Let’s Eat Grandma. Returning with a second album that’s brilliant, fresh and sounds like The Future, capital letters and all, they’re helping us celebrate by grabbing their first Dork cover. And what a cover it is. Just look at it. Lush.
Elsewhere, we’re throwing back to that debut edition by welcoming back Spring King, who let us in on their forthcoming full-length ‘A Better Life’. The hottest new band on the planet, Pale Waves, spill all on the creation of their debut album, while Idles get chatty about a new record that’s set to cement their place as leaders of all that’s visceral and, y’know, ‘good’.
There’s also a trip inside the world of Matt Maltese, introductions to exciting new talent like Boy Azooga, Snail Mail, Hatchie and Feet, news on what’s to come for King Nun, Indoor Pets and You Me At Six, and loads, loads (loads) more.
Oh – and a genuine pop emergency from Years & Years, with an interesting solution. When you see what we’ve done, you’ll in no way be surprised. It’s very ‘us’.
That’s barely scratching the surface on another packed issue (did we mention Chvrches? What about Two Door Cinema Club or Our Girl? Her’s?). The new issue of Dork is out now. You can make sure you get a copy by ordering direct from us below. Or, if you’re especially lovely, subscribe and get every issue direct to your door anywhere on the planet. Otherwise, you can pick copies up from record stores, venues and bars around the UK.
