The Liberties are set to play a special charity show in London next month.
The band will top the bill at the ‘Unity Rocks’ gig at Brixton’s O2 Academy on September 7th, with support from Rat Boy. All proceeds go to charity Hope Not Hate.
Unity Rocks is founded by Libertines drummer Gary Powell, who explains: “The idea of ‘Unity Rocks’ is to bring people together, regardless of their creed, colour, religion or whether they voted Brexit or not. This is not about politics or politicians, it’s about unifying as a nation and working to make a united, more tolerant Britain; after all, the future is in our hands.”
“By using the power of music we hope to ‘pluck’ the ears of the political elite to our view and make them notice that our voices must be heard – whether it be via song or otherwise.”
More Unity Rocks shows will be announced around the UK at a future date.
