Lowlands adds Noel Gallagher, AlunaGeorge and more

Some European festival bills are starting to look ridiculously good.

European festivals have been putting together some insane line ups in recent years. Not so tied by the exclusivity deals of their UK counterparts, they’re putting together bills which pack major event headliners deep down the bill, and at a ticket price that, even with transport included, runs your domestic events into the ground on value.

Take a look at this year’s Lowlands, for example. The Dutch event was already packing Muse, Sigur Rós, LCD Soundsystem, Foals, Disclosure and The Last Shadow Puppets. But not just them, there’s Biffy Clyro, James Blake, Warpaint, The Kills, Chvrches, M83, Dua Lipa, Pumarosa and NAO too. And that’s not even half the previously announced names.

And today, they’re adding even more. Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds join the party, alongside Chase & Status and AlunaGeorge. There’s also room for Cassius, Matt Corby, Miike Snow, John Coffey, Local Natives, Hollywood Undead, Logic, SBMG & Broederliefde, Indian Askin, Bombay, Izzy Bizu, Bohemian Betyars, Elias, Woodie Smalls, Otherkin and Transylvania. That’s a lot of bands.

Held in Biddinghuizen, at the heart of the Netherlands, Lowlands is around an hour’s drive from Amsterdam, with Schipol the nearest airport. You can get a train from there to Dronten, with free direct shuttle buses taking you on to the site. Easy.

Taking place from August 19th to 21st, three day tickets set you pack £140, including shuttle, camping and service charges. Find out more here. [sc name=”stopper” ]
