If there’s a man who hold nothing backs in the verses and music he makes, it’s Loyle Carner – whose continued that hard-hitting front with the official video for latest track ‘The Isle Of Arran’
Chronicling Loyle’s journey through hospital wards and homes, it’s a gripping celebration of young fathers and the joys of brining life into the world – married with the emotional and moving tales of his own childhood.
Speaking about the video, which culminates in Loyle standing side by side with a group of young fathers holding their children, he said:
“A lot of my boys haven’t had the best relationships with their pops, but it’s getting to the point where some of them are becoming fathers themselves. With this video, I just wanted to celebrate the ones who are doing right and sticking around, because slowly they’re shedding the stereotype.”
‘The Isle Of Arran’ is taken from Loyle Carner’s debut album ‘Yesterday’s Gone’, set for release on January 20th and sure to be filled with more incredibly raw and vital modern hip-hop. He’ll then head around the UK on his biggest headline tour to date, calling into Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham amongst others before rounding it all of with two nights at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.
