Matt Maltese is getting ready to record his debut album.
In an interview with Dork this weekend at Latitude, Matt revealed that he’s currently sorting out a track listing for record numero uno.
“I’m currently deciding the track list for an album, maybe one or two more songs to write, definitely close to going in and recording it. I’d like to take just take a month or two months and just do it.” He said. “It feels like I’m very close to getting to a stage where I’m able to record it, and I’d hope it’ll be released next year or something.”
Next year! So close and yet so far. In the meantime, Matt’s got a live EP coming out in the next few weeks called ‘Blood, Sweat and Beers’. The vinyl-only EP comes with a booklet of poems he wrote on the road as “a satirical, self-pitying, ‘the road is really shit’ kind of thing’,” Matt explained.
That eases the wait a bit, doesn’t it?
