Fresh from crooning hearts all over the place this summer, Matt Maltese has announced details of his biggest UK headline tour to date, rolling its way around the country this November.
Kicking off on November 7th at the Oporto in Leeds, Mr Maltese is set to check into Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton and Bristol before rounding things out with a night at London’s Moth Club on November 13th.
Oh, and did we mention he’s bringing a full live band to proceedings too? Well, yeah – that’s happening, and that’s pretty special indeed.
The new run of tour dates come with news of a live EP titled ‘Blood Sweat & Beers’, which is out now in physical formats only. The six track live collection was recorded with producer and Maccabees man Hugo White at his studio The Drugstore – and includes certified favourites such as ‘When The World Caves In’, ‘Vacant In The 21st Century’ and ‘No One Won The War’. Complete with an accompanying poetry collection, it’s a must-have that’s for sure.
Speaking at this year’s Latitude (remember that?), Matt detailed more about the EP – explaining how the poetry was written whilst he was on the road. “A satirical, self-pitying, ‘the road is really shit’ kind of thing” he noted, “I did some of that at Hugo’s studio, some of the live stuff, and then made a little booklet with this amazing artist Alice Bloomfield, who’s illustrated it and stuff. I’m really happy with it. It’s a nice bit of material that I can not put up online as well, it’s just going to be a vinyl thing. I’m excited about it, really excited.”
So exciting times all round – tickets for Matt’s November headline shows are available now. Get the full rundown for your diaries below,
