So you want to make a bonafide summer pop record and you want to know how it take it up a notch? Getting the definitive cool-pop queen herself on a track isn’t exactly a bad move – and the result is ‘Hang Me Out To Dry’, the latest track from Metronomy featuring the one and only Robyn.
As another tantalising preview of ‘Summer 08’, ‘Hang Me Out To Dry’ is an unstoppably neo-pop soother, like a glass of ice cold water on a boiling hot summers day.
Speaking to Zane Lowe about the track and working with Robyn, main man Joe Mount said: “She’s just got this incredible singular voice in pop music and you hear it now everywhere. You hear it in Lorde and Taylor Swift songs. She started this thing which is everywhere now. I love her voice and to have it on my music feels good.”
Alongside previously the previously released tracks ‘Old Skool’, ‘Night Owl’ and ‘Back Together’, it’s clear that ‘Summer 08’ is shaping up nicely for the summer ahead.
The album drops this Friday (July 1st).
