METZ have shared a new single ‘Drained Lake’, taken from their third album ‘Strange Peace’.
From the first chords ‘Drained Lake’ skitters off like a runaway propane tank, with dizzying synths and a frantic, racing rhythm. Frontman Alex Edkins describes the track as relating to
“The constant struggle to know yourself and make sense of your life and surroundings. What is my purpose? Holding on to who you are while fending off pressure to bend to what other people want and expect from you.”
