Michael and Emily Eavis are already booking Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary line-up for 2020

Michael is also ready for the Variety Bazaar – “the last big gamble in my life.”

Michael and Emily Eavis have already started work on booking for the festival’s 50th anniversary in 2020.

There’ll be a fallow year in 2018, meaning the next Glastonbury Festival will take place in two years time. “We’ll be back here at the farm in 2019,” says Emily Eavis in the Glastonbury Free Press. “And we’re definitely here in 2020 for our 50th birthday.”

“We’re already booking bands for that one,” adds Michael Eavis. “Half a century. It’s an incredible feat, actually. We’ve been through so many struggles to get here.”

Once that’s out of the way, the father daughter pairing have their eyes set on their new festival away from Worthy Farm, currently operating under the working title Variety Bazaar. Michael describes it as “the last big gamble in my life.”

“We have no plans to stop doing the festival here, but we want to try something in another location away from the farm, possibly in 2021.”

“It’s still very much in the planning stages, but we’ve got to be brave enough to have a go”.
