Michael Kiwanuka is back

He’s not just been hiding down the shops, he’s made a new album.

Michael Kiwanuka is back!

We know!

The Mercury nominated, BBC Sound of winning songwriter will release new album ‘Love & Hate’ on May 27th. The record, produced by Danger Mouse and Inflo, is preceded by a new song ‘Black Man In A White World’. Getting its first spin from Annie Mac last week, it’s now ‘streaming’ in an ‘online’ environment.

“I’ve always wanted to make an album that felt and sounded like this one,” Michael explains. “Working with guys as good as Danger Mouse and Inflo really helped me find what I was looking for. I hope this is just the start of more music to come.”

Danger Mouse, by the way, is all giddy with glee. “I’d been wanting to work with Michael for a while and once we did a song, we just felt like we should keep going,” he explained. “I knew he had a great voice, but his guitar playing on this album was very important. Inflo was the very important last piece that really kept it all going. We really did feel like we were making an important album.”

Inflo, basically, is getting the Penfold billing here. It’s OK. We love Penfold.
