Oh look, The Smiths have a new Twitter account. We bet Mozza has popped round Marr’s gaff to set it up, because they’re planning a big comeback and it’d be just lovely to communicate directly with the fans, post the odd cat gif, share some #indieamnesty memories…

Predictably, Morrissey isn’t happy with label Warner for opening an account for his band. A posting on official fan size True To You states “Morrissey would like to stress that this account has not been sanctioned by him and has no connection to him.”
“Follow it at your peril,” it added.
The account itself states that it is “purely to celebrate the history and the music of The Smiths.”
