Boasting members of both God Damn and Viv Albertine, MUTES are about to release their debut album – check out teaser track ‘A Burial’ below, first on Dork.
It’s the second taste of full-length ‘No Desire’, due for release on 2nd June (pre-order your copy here), and sees the band trying something a little different…
“‘A Burial’ is a short, sharp diatribe against complexity, sonically speaking,” says frontman James Brown. “I’m actually quite surprised I went through with recording this song, never mind putting it out. It’s quite anti-Mutes I think.
“I wrote it as a little ditty when I realised that being heavy wasn’t so frowned upon locally thanks to God Damn, Youth Man et al. Maybe I’m just too pretentious to admit that I like the song because I find it so ridiculous?
“Anyhow, the video is suitably OTT and I must say, it’s always a blast to play live.”
MUTES have a bunch of live dates coming up to celebrate the release, including:

25 Hare & Hounds, Birmingham (w/ Spectres)
MAY
13 Hare & Hounds, Birmingham (w/ Victories At Sea)
JUNE
