New material from Fleet Foxes is coming very soon, apparently

They’re playing Iceland Airwaves this November, too.

Fleet Foxes have been away for ‘quite a while’, but with those festival dates across the summer, we’re well aware we should be expecting something new from the band pretty soon.

That ‘soon’ might be closer than we think, after Robin Pecknold took to Instagram for an impromptu sort of Q&A.

Apparently their forthcoming album is 11 tracks and 56 minutes long, and is described as a “car, Maxed, road trip, sunset” record. It’s a few months away, but we should expect track five to arrive imminently.

So that’s nice. Thanks, Rob mate.

In other Fleet Foxes news, the bands have signed up to play this year’s Iceland Airwaves festival.

They’ll play two shows in Reykjavik on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th November, alongside fellow new additions Billy Bragg, Childhood, JFDR, Lonely Parade, Mammut and Shame. They join previously-announced acts including Arab Strap, Benjamin Clementine, Gurr, and Kelly Lee Owens.

Iceland Airwaves takes place between 1st and 5th November 2017.
