“New music next year” for The Strokes?

According to guitarist Nick Valensi – it’s happening.

The Strokes are basically the biggest teases in music right? After dropping a surprise EP release earlier in the year, it appears there there may be more to come from the New York icons – well, according to guitarist Nick Valensi that is.

Speaking to NME, Valensi said: “The Strokes are alive and well and living in New York City. We are working on music and we want to hopefully put music out next year.”

AHHH BRILLIANT, LETS ALL GET EXCITED – wait, a minute…

“If I start saying a lot now, people get too excited. Then there’s all this hype you’ve got to compete with, and that’s not fun. If anything, I’d rather just pull a Beyonce at some point next year and just drop shit.”

We’re all up for dropping shit Nick, we’re well up for it! Valensi is a pretty busy boy already without all of this Strokes talk – his new band CRX are set to release their debut album ‘New Skin’ on October 28th, with the record produced by none other than Josh Homme.

The Strokes’ latest release, the ‘Future Present Past EP’ was released in June and if it’s anything to go by, then this new material may boast some more bangerific hooks. And we can’t wait.
