Nick J.D. Hodgson hangs out with some Suffolk cows for his new ‘Suitable’ video

It was filmed on an iPhone using a £4 selfie-stick.

Former Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick J.D. Hodgson recently dropped his debut solo single, ‘Suitable’ – and now he’s unveiled the video.

“My wife Anna directed it when we were in Suffolk in the summer 2017,” he says of the clip. “We got up at 4am to shoot the video with the sunrise as the backdrop. It was filmed on an iPhone and held by a £4 selfie-stick.

“We wanted the video to represent the lushness of the track. It’s quite slow and soaring so the dramatic sunrise across the Suffolk fields seemed to fit really well. There were some pretty sleepy and confused cows watching us the whole time. I was fine with that.”

Nick’s new material follows writing collaborations with a variety of popsters, including Mark Ronson, Hurts, John Newman, Rat Boy and Shirley Bassey. His first solo gig will be supporting The Cribs at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club on 18th December – keep an eye out for news of his debut album, too.
