Dozens of old Nirvana demos have surfaced on YouTube, uploaded by Kurt Cobain’s old pal John Purkey.
Taken from a series of four tapes given to him by the frontman himself, Purkey has posted the audio alongside introductions and notes for each.
“This is the first tape Kurt gave to me,” he says, introducing the first collection. “Sound quality is not perfect but it’s not too bad. It is listenable. ‘Paper Cuts’ sounds a little warbaly at first and that is exactly how it was when Kurt gave it to me. I got used to it. It slowly becomes clear sounding.”
