No one will be surprised at who’s the favourite to win this year’s Mercury Prize

Who could it possibly be?

David Bowie is most likely to win this year’s Mercury Prize by quite a long way, say the latest stats released by William Hill – with 78% of all money bet placed on his album ‘Blackstar’.

His closest contender is previous winner Anohni at 6/1, who returns this year with ‘Hopelessness’, having won in 2005 with Antony and the Johnsons’ album ‘I Am a Bird Now’.

As for the rest, well:

Radiohead – A Moon Shaped Pool (8/1)
Skepta – Konnichiwa (10/1)
Michael Kiwanuka – Love & Hate (14/1)
Laura Mvula – The Dreaming Room (16/1)
Bat For Lashes – The Bride (16/1)
Kano – Made in the Manor (16/1)
The 1975 – I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It (20/1)
Savages – Adore Life (25/1)
The Comet Is Coming – Channel the Spirits (25/1)
Jamie Woon – Making Time (33/1)

Poor Jamie Woon.
