Thee Oh Sees, later known as Oh Sees, seem to like changing their name as much as they like releasing albums.
Dropping the ‘Thee’ segment of their name for their new album ‘Orc’, which was released last week, seemingly wasn’t enough for them – in any sense. They’ve now announced another full-length, ‘Memory Of A Cut Off Head’, alongside a second name change. Sort of.
Returning to the name OCS – which apparently was the name which accompanied the first ‘iteration’ of the band, it’ll be their 20th album under their various monikers, and the 100th release on band leader John Dwyer’s Castle Face label.
Dwyer recorded the record with longtime collaborator Brigid Dawson, who provides lead vocals for the album’s title track. You can check that out below.
‘Memory Of A Cut Off Head’ is set for release on 17th November.
