After launching Self Esteem into the world with debut single ‘Your Wife’, Rebecca Taylor has dropped another pop-filled party starter with the single’s B-side ‘OMG’.
Rebecca (of Slow Club fame), unveiled her new project back in August – and now along with another track has laid out details of her first headline show as Self Esteem. Taking place at The Pickle Factory in London on October 24th, it’s bound to be a must-see night showcasing what’s to come. If these numbers are anything to go by, then christ it’s going to be splendid.
Chatting in the latest Dork magazine, Rebecca elaborated on the sounds and styles that influenced her new direction. “All I listen to is Destiny’s Child, Rihanna and Kanye West,” she says. “I love the music that a lot of people might say isn’t real music. American RnB pop music is my jam. I’ve always had this idea that because I was in this indie girl folk box that’s what I had to make, but I always wanted to do that pop stuff.”
