The Orwells confirm new album ‘Terrible Human Beings’

The announcement comes with a new track and video for ‘They Put A Body In The Bayou’.

Swaggering Chicago natives The Orwells have confirmed the first details of their third studio album, set to be titled ‘Terrible Human Beings’ and lined up for release on February 17th.

Following up their uncompromising last LP – 2014’s ‘Disgraceland’ – expect more scratchy melodic hooks than ever before.

Speaking about the album, guitarist Matt O’Keefe said:

“The Pixies were an obsession when we were writing this album. I think that’s where a lot of trying to make the songs and the guitar parts very simple was coming from, because the Pixies are kings of that. We’ve always been a simple band, but this time it was about trying to keep everything straightforward, nothing flashy.”

The band have also revealed a fresh new video for new cut ‘They Put A Body In The Bayou’, which perfectly sums up everything that seems to be going on with US politics at the moment – with frontman Mario Cuomo taking over the role as political campaigner from a politician who’s maybe had too much of a good time if y’know what we mean.

Ahead of 2017, The Orwells will return to the UK at the end of November for two intimate shows at The Wardrobe in Leeds on November 29th and then The Dome in London on November 30th.
