Paperhead debut new track ‘Over and Over’

It’s blissful psychedelia about… nuclear fallout.

Nashville psych-pop trio Paperhead are premiering the latest track from their new album – check out ‘Over and Over’ below, first on Dork.

On the surface ‘Over and Over’ is a wistful, relaxing number perfectly suited to whiling away a lazy afternoon; the subject matter, however, is a little more gritty…

“I wrote the lyrics for ‘Over and Over’ after reading about 1920s cure-all medicines that used Radium and other radioactive ingredients that claimed to cure a variety of mental and physical illnesses,” says Ryan Jennings.

“The song is written from the point of view of a child living and playing with friends in a (near future…) society undergoing nuclear fallout, where these remedies have completely replaced natural ingredients.”

The band’s fourth full-length ’Chew’ is out on 17th February via Trouble In Mind. It’s followed by a European tour that kicks off on 25th March in Berlin, with a trio of UK shows – Manchester, Glasgow and London – in April.
