Patrick Wolf is to be awarded The College Historical Society of Trinity College Dublin’s Burke Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Discourse through the Arts.
The award will be presented on 11th December at the college, and to celebrate Patrick will play two new shows: one in Dublin, and one in London.
Previous artists to have been awarded the medal include WB Yeats, Salman Rushdie, Patti Smith, Tracey Emin, Steven Moffat, Sinéad O’Connor, Hilary Mantel and Ralph Fiennes.
“It’s with great pride I’ll be going to Dublin to accept this award,” says Patrick. “For my work to be acknowledged in this way is a true honour, and the fact that I’ll be receiving a medal once awarded to WB Yeats is a dream.”
Patrick’s currently hard at work on his seventh studio album – the follow up to 2012’s ‘Sundark and Riverlight’ – and his first book of original Poetry, The Ghost Region.
