Petition started to persuade Dizzee Rascal to bring full ‘Boy In Da Corner’ show to the UK

At the moment, he’s only doing it in New York.

A petition has been started to persuade Dizzee Rascal to perform his classic debut album ‘Boy In Da Corner’ in full in the UK.

Last week, it was announced Dizzee would play the Mercury winning 2003 record in full as part of the Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York on May 6th. A record that’s so embedded into modern British culture surely deserves a show on home turf too, though?

That’s what one fan reckons, starting an online petition to convince Dizzee it’s a good idea.

A message alongside the petition reads:

“With the recent announcement by RBMA NYC that Dizzee Rascal will be performing his debut album, Boy In Da Corner, my heart melted in nostalgia. I wondered to myself ‘WHY NOT LONDON?’

The legendary album cemented the sound of grime music over 13 years ago. The full set will be performed at the Red Bull Music Academy New York Festival on May 6th 2016.

Grime has seen a heavy re-emergence into the UK’s mainstream and artists like Kano have sold out shows by re-touring their debut material.

THE SOLUTION:

DIZZEE RASCAL please give the UK a Boy In Da Corner Tour.

Kind Regards,

Every Grime fan in the UK.”

You can sign the petition here, and then feel very smug once it happens. It has to, surely?
