Plastic Mermaids have slowly been unveiling their Live From Ventnor session series – the latest track from which is ‘Painted Lady’, which you can watch below first on Dork. It’s a bit special.
“We had different string arrangements on this on than on the EP,” say the band. “I Love playing the mid section with all the strings, it feels kinda Beatlesy.
“We also did a really drawn out outro with Jamie running his vocal loops though his analogue sequencer which added a heavy dose of uncertainty to the end of the song!”
Each video in the series was recorded in a church in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, joined by a cast of friends and musicians, and the band are currently sharing them at a rate of one a week – watch ‘Alaska’ and ‘Paris Milkshake’ on plasticmermaids.com.
This particular track precedes a bunch of upcoming tour dates, including both Simple Things in Bristol and SWN in Cardiff next month; find their full list of shows after the jump. Plastic Mermaids’ third EP ‘Everything Is Yellow & Yellow Is My Least Favourite Colour’ is out now.
