Seriously – if one of your favourite bands started sending stuff to your home, telling you they know where you live, wouldn’t you be slightly creeped out. Especially if they mentioned burning witches. That’s basically a threat, right. Someone call the (karma) police, Radiohead are intimidating us.
Fans have been receiving messages in the post, like the one pictured above, referring to ‘Burn The Witch’. Hardcore Radiohead fans may recognise that name – it’s a song that dates back to over a decade ago. The fact these are popping up now suggests something is imminent.
In fact, some are speculating that could be as soon as tomorrow.
Yes, a Bank Holiday Sunday. Radiohead would do that. They interrupted your Christmas dinner with bond theme ‘Spectre’, remember?
Turns out, May 1st is International Dawn Chorus Day – which is (roughly) the name of a couple of companies the band set up seemingly to handle the ‘business side’ of LP9. Tonight – April 30th – is also Walpurgis Night, which is effectively ‘Witches Night’. It all starts to look rather like they’ve been planning this for quite a while. Maybe that Christmas Day track drop was a tester to make sure we’d all still be paying attention, even? Yes. They almost certainly are that clever.
Radiohead are set to start their world tour later in May. We’re sounding the early warning klaxon now. Stand by your beds, viewers. [sc name=”stopper” ]
