Radiohead remove B-sides and collectors edition albums from streaming services

Certain B-sides and rarities that formed part of ‘Special Collectors Edition’ versions of the band’s earlier albums have been taken down.

Parts of Radiohead’s back catalogue have disappeared from streaming services.

Certain B-sides and rarities that formed part of ‘Special Collectors Edition’ versions of the band’s earlier albums have been taken down, as the band streamline what music is available via Spotify and Apple Music.

That means tracks like ‘The Trickster’, ‘How I Made My Millions’ and ‘Palo Alto’ will have to be found elsewhere.

The move comes as the band’s catalog of music prior to ‘In Rainbows’ has swapped homes. Previously held by Warner Music, it’s now moved to Beggars Group – no shock, as the band work with XL Recordings on their newer material.

“As a result of a change in rights ownership of Radiohead’s catalog, the band’s catalog on Spotify has been streamlined, meaning that a small number of products are no longer available,” a Spotify spokesperson told Pitchfork in a statement. “However, the band’s core album catalog remains available to their millions of fans on Spotify as before.”

Radiohead are currently preparing to release their ninth album. It could be out anytime, to be honest. Everyone sleep in shifts, just in case.
