Radiohead like to keep their album announcements low key. Yesterday, they were sending out flyers to fans, hinting at something new being imminent. Tonight, it looks like they’re about to deliver on that promise.
The band’s website, radiohead.com, has been fading out gradually over the past couple of hours. With the opacity (see-throughy-ness – Ed) of the page changing every 10 minutes or so, it’s currently running as low as 25%. As things stand, we should expect to see what they’re building up to very soon indeed.
The smart money would be on at least an announcement of their 9th album, with many hints linking it to today’s date. If we’re still not in possession of new Radiohead this time next week, it would seem surprising to say the least.
Looks like it’s going to be a busy Sunday night.
Update: The website is now completely blank, with nothing in the source code. The band’s avatars on Twitter and Facebook have been changed to plain white images, with all their tweets and posts deleted.
