Shame’s KEXP session captures the live brilliance of one of the planet’s most exciting bands

What. A. Band.

It’s pretty obvious by this point that 2018 might belong to Shame. The person that etches the name on the trophy has been called, and some over enthusiastic type has started attaching the ribbons in their home colours. The ball may still be in play, but it’s going to take something special to wrestle the title from their grasp now.

Putting the ill judged sporting analogies to one side – it’s a charge built on live energy. Their debut album ‘Songs Of Praise’ is an acerbic, striking, attention grabbing work of brilliance, but it’s on stage where the four band’s visceral bite properly comes to life.

If you’re after a taste that will stop even the most cynical, disconnected music listener in their tracks, KEXP have us sorted. Recording the band in session earlier this year in their sparkly performance space, the video flies between the individual members, capturing the energy that makes Shame so special.

Performing ‘Dust On Trial’, ‘Concrete’, ‘One Rizla’, ‘Friction’ and ‘The Lick’, you can check out the full thing below.
