Do ya know what we all need right now? Lily Allen – and after becoming more and more actively engaged in the political arena, it looks like her return to new music is right on the horizon.
Appearing on ‘Revolting’ creators Jolyon Rubinstein and Heydon Prowse’s News Roast Podcast, Lily dived into a range of conversations – including touching upon a new album that she’s been working on recently, which she hopes will be released “around June”
Speaking about the some of the influences around her writing, Lily explained how “weirdly, this album is quite insular… Mainly it has to do with me and my relationship with my children, the breakdown of my marriage, substance abuse etc”.
That album will be the first new material to emerge from Lily Allen since the release of 2014’s ‘Sheezus’ – her first LP in over 5 years upon its release.
All we know is that we need some blooming outspoken and uncompromising pop in 2017, and Lily Allen may well be on her way to providing it. Our ears are firmly clasped to the ground.
