Sia and Charli XCX have both written for Blondie’s new album

The as-yet-untitled album isn’t far off being complete.

Blondie are gathering an all-star cast for their upcoming record, the follow up to 2014 double-album ‘Blondie 4(0) Ever’, which featured both a collection of re-recordings, and the band’s tenth studio album, ‘Ghosts of Download’.

Produced by St. Vincent and Sigur Rós collaborator John Congleton; Sia, Charli XCX, Johnny Marr and The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr all feature among the writer credits.

The band’s co-founder, Chris Stein stopped by Charli XCX’s (pre-recorded) Beats 1 show The Candy Shop to reveal more about the release. “Sia and that guy from the Strokes wrote a song,” he said. “We have a Johnny Marr track that we really like.”

As for further collaborations, Debbie Harry revealed she’d “love to have Ludacris” on the record.

The Candy Shop will air later today, Friday 6th May.
