Sigur Rós are teasing what may well be a new album, dropping a short teaser video for something called ‘Norðurogniður’.
With a description teasing something “soon”, there’s also a link to the band’s mailing list.
After signing up, an email is sent containing a download link for the photo above.
According to Consequence of Sound, Norðurogniður translates to “north and down” or “northward and downward”, though a comment on the band’s Facebook page also notes that “farðu norður og niður” can mean “go to hell”.
CoS also points out that the band debuted a new track ‘Niður’ during their recent US dates, which according to composer Nico Muhly was originally titled ‘Norður’.
