Sky Ferreira has had enough of people trying to rush her on her new album.
Ferreira has been talking about ‘Masochism’, the follow up to 2013’s Really Very Good ‘Night Time, My Time’, for a while now. Last year she suggested a new song and short film would arrive in the summer, but health issues and scheduling conflicts got in the way. Last month, she told us the record would be out this summer – but seemingly some people are impatient. Impatient and rude.
In a series of tweets, Sky explains: “I never gave a date on my album. Therefore there’s no “delay”. I’m working on it and have been since I was touring. Bullying me on the internet or whatever will not make the process faster.”
“I’ve been working on it and doing lots of other (creative) things,” she continues. “There isn’t a timeline on music or creativity in general. I’d rather make and release the best / most honest thing possible instead of trying to race time or the internet / short attention spans. “Momentum” or hype isn’t real (in terms of what I want to make / do in life). It’s short lived. Quality over quantity.”
“Anyways. I’m really excited for it,” she finishes.
Us too.

I never gave a date on my album. Therefore there's no "delay". I'm working on it & have been since I was touring

I've said the same thing multiple times so I'm not going to go on a "rant" about it

I kinda can't stand the words "rant" & "delay" 'cause anytime I talk about my album they tend to get used the most when neither exist rn lol

They both mean something negative but only positive things have been happening when it comes to making this album so STOP USING IT
