Between their massive November UK headline tour and their ‘Back In The Van’ September tour, Slaves are making sure that they’re always accessible.
“It’s something that’s on our mind,” admits Laurie Vincent. “We want to be able to do everything, I think it’s important to do the small shows and the big shows to maintain the balance. Don’t forget where you come from. The Cribs are the model band, I can’t say we made any of these ideas up ourselves, they did all that stuff.”
“You can get big without selling out and I think we are conscious of that. And also, we do love playing the small venues as well as the big stages. It’s always just as important to us,” continues Isaac Holman as Laurie adds, “I always liked seeing The Cribs. You can see ‘em in the small venues and the big ones. We always said if we could do a similar thing to The Cribs, we’d be well proud. That’s what we want to do. They made a career of just doing whatever they wanted and stayed at a nice level. They never sold out, that’s what we’d like to do.”
