North London band Sorry have just released new single ‘Wished’ , accompanied by a video that seems to have taken filming tips from the makers of Peep Show.
Directed by India Lee, the video is filmed from the viewpoint of an unknown person, and tracks a day in their life. All of the standard Thursday afternoon exploits are on show, including getting sworn at by strangers, being told to go away by blokes in the pub and throwing takeaway chips at people in a chicken shop.
The song itself is a melancholy slow burner that fits the video perfectly. Joint vocal duties from Asha Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen interlock and make the track feel like a fever dream. It’s the kind of feeling that might lead you to throw chips at someone, if you were that way inclined.
‘Wished’ is Sorry’s first single since signing to Domino, and will be released as a 7″ single with b-side ‘Lies’ on December 15.
