Soundcloud announce new paid tier Soundcloud Go

It launches in the US today, and elsewhere later in the year.

SoundCloud has announced a new paid subscription service.

Titled Soundcloud Go, it promises ad-free listening and an expanded music library, while also allowing users to save audio to hear offline. It will provide access to the material of the three major labels and more than 20,000 independent labels, as well as your mate’s dodgy remixes on the free tier that, honestly, we’re all amazed haven’t been taken down yet.

Launching in the US today and ‘elsewhere later this year’, it will set you back $9.99 for Android and desktop, but $12.99 for iOS because Apple. Subscribers get a free 30-day trial to cancel at the end of.

SoundCloud founder and CEO Alexander Ljung said in a press release, “SoundCloud Go represents our vision of the future of music streaming: a platform for creators to collaborate on; for fans to discover the latest tracks, enjoy legendary music and connect with their favorite artists; and for our unique creative community to have the opportunity to be paid for their work.”
