St. Vincent has announced this week that she’ll be directing a new adaptation of ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’.
Oscar Wilde’s only novel focusses on a hedonistic young man whose portrait ages while he stays young and good-looking. The new version with Annie Clarke at the helm and written by David Birke reimagines the classic tale with a woman in the title role, but there isn’t a whole lot of other information about just yet. This won’t be Annie’s first foray into directing, though – she also co-wrote, directed and scored the short film ‘Birthday Party’, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year.
It’s early days, so there’s no release date for ‘Dorian Gray’ yet. In the meantime we’ll just have to busy ourselves with St Vincent’s other brilliant works. Shame, that.
Excited to announce I'm directing a feature adaptation of Dorian Gray – screenplay by David Birke (Elle) https://t.co/A24FcTW3xw
