Superfood burst back with a bit of ‘Double Dutch’

The band’s first new material since 2014 has well and truly whet our appetite for a new album coming later in the year

When a band decides to drop their comeback track in the middle of the Superbowl, you know it’s gonna head straight for the touchdown – as Superfood have done with the dazzling new number ‘Double Dutch’.

A jump and a leap from the scratchy-indie hooks of their 2014 debut LP ‘Don’t Say That’ , ‘Double Dutch’ is a sampling swoon of shimmying goodness, delving into Gorillaz-esque chimes that’ll be triggering many-a blissful daydream for the new few weeks. It points to something pretty special in the pipeline, as Superfood take 2017 and paint it in their own mesmeric shades of sweet-crunching nutrition.

The band (now a duo featuring frontman Dom Ganderton and Ryan Malcolm) have unveiled their fresh new flavours ahead of an as-yet-untitled new album that was born out of a time where the guys had “no money, no label and wanted to give up several times”. Thank christ they didn’t.

Set for release through acclaimed label Dirty Hit later in the year, Superfood will be heading out on the label’s very first tour in March – where you can guarantee there’ll be plenty of new material blaring out for some big ‘ol nights alongside King Nun and Pale Waves.

Skip into ‘Double Dutch’ below – and bask in the fact that Superfood are ready to shake things up good and proper.
