Surprise! Here’s another new album from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

Only two more to go this year.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have shock dropped their third album of 2017, a Mild High Club collaboration ’Sketches of Brunswick East’.

The band, who auctioned test pressings last week on eBay, premiered the record by playing it on a Facebook live stream. You can stream it now, below.

Physical editions of the album will be available in October. It follows up on February’s ‘Flying Microtonal Banana’, and June’s ‘Murder of the Universe’. If the band stick to their plan, they’ll have another two albums out before the end of the year.

Their latest full-length is inspired by Brunswick East – the Melbourne suburb
in which they write and record their music. “We’re always walking up and down the street all the time,” says frontman Stu Mackenzie. “Going to get coffee, lugging amps, just constantly wandering Lygon Street… seeing the terrain change as new apartment buildings are erected, watching the cranes build bigger cranes. In that respect, perhaps it represents greater changes that are happening in the wider world, and this is our attempt to find beauty within a place that we spend so much time.”
