Tame Impala have been on the promo trail a bit this year following 2015’s ‘Currents’, but they’re just about to wind it up it seems.
Speaking to Noted to preview the band’s appearance at Laneway Festival in Australia, frontman Kevin Parker reveals:
“I really don’t know how that’s going to feel because, in the past, the album cycles haven’t really ended with a bang, or even ended decidedly. They just sort of peter out. But this time it really is a bookend.
“I’m glad it’s happening at Laneway. There will be tears and cheers, and emotions will be running high. I think it’ll be quite weird, but not without a sense of accomplishment.”
Laneway Festival will take place across various Australian cities next January and February, with further sets from Car Seat Headrest, Clams Casino, White Lung, Whitney, The Julie Ruin, Aurora, DMA’s, Bob Moses, Glass Animals, Nao, Refused, Tourist and loads more.
The band have been working on a deluxe version of the album, with b-sides too, which is thought to be arriving imminently.
