Tegan & Sara have set up a LGBTQ rights foundation

The Tegan & Sara Foundation was inspired from a year spent touring latest album ‘Love You To Death’

Tegan & Sara have announced the formation of a brand new foundation, dedicated to championing and supporting LGBTQ rights.

The Canadian twin duo, who released fresh new album ‘Love You To Death’ earlier in the year, were inspired to form the foundation after taking time whilst on tour to meet with fans, youth activists, researchers, legislators and others who work extensively on supporting the LGBTQ community.

The formation itself will “be proactive with our support rather than wait to react to discrimination as it occurs. We will support the work of other organizations who have been fighting for LGBTQ and women’s rights by raising funds and awareness for their initiatives. We will fight against the repressive legislation of the incoming Trump administration. We will fight against regressive homophobic, transphobic, and misogynistic legislation. We will fight for economic, racial and gender justice.”

You can find out more information on the foundation here, along with more information on donating here.

Tegan & Sara are set to return to the UK next year for their biggest run of headline shows to date, including a night at The Roundhouse in London on February 13th.
