The 1975 are going to start making ‘Music For Cars’ on August 1st

Matty and their manager also have a secret codeword. Oooooooh.

Today The 1975 bring their ‘ILIWYS’ story to a close at Latitude Festival.

And trust us, it really is the end of an era.

But the band haven’t got long to mourn, they’re apparently going to start working properly on album number three in just a few weeks.

“We’ll start making a new album on the 1st of August,” says their manager Jamie Oborne in an interview with Music Week. “I mean, they don’t know how to hang about in truth. Matty and George, they just don’t know how to stop creating.”

Also in the interview, it’s revealed that Matty and Jamie have a secret codeword.

“If one of us feels super strongly about something, to the point where we have to say that (word) to each other, then that thing has to be left alone. If it doesn’t feel like what The 1975 would do, then it’s gone. But we don’t argue about anything.”
