The 1975, Little Mix and David Bowie win big at the BRIT Awards

A shindig packed with walking houses, big performances and Dermot O’Leary – it could only be one night

The 1975, Little Mix and David Bowie all scooped up big honours at the BRIT Awards last night – as the big ‘ol celebration took over The O2 in London once again

After both performed earlier in the evening, The 1975 and Little Mix both picked up their first-ever BRIT trophies (for British Group and British Single respectively), with David Bowie picking up awards for British Male and the big one of the night – the British Album Of The Year.

The night also saw Rag ‘n’ Bone Man add to his BRITS tally, beating out Skepta, Stormzy, Anne-Marie and Blossoms to the British Breakthrough award after previously being confirmed as the Critics Choice.

On the international front, the nods tipped their way to Drake for International Male, Beyonce for International Female and A Tribe Called Quest also picked up their first-ever BRIT award for International Group – of course none of them were there, but y’know the sentiment counts right!

Along with the awards, the BRITS featured all the pyro, shebang and sights you’d come to expect from it all, with a blistering performance from Skepta, the collaboration of the year between Ed Sheeran and Stormzy, those houses well and truly taking over with Katy Perry, a classic slice of showmanship from Bruno Mars and a special tribute to George Michael – introduced by his former Wham! bandmates and performed by Coldplay’s Chris Martin (who later returned with band in toe to perform a new track with The Chainsmokers).

So quite a lot happened basically.
