It took them 16 years to follow up their previous LP, but The Avalanches are now in full flight – unveiling new track ‘Bad Day’ via two different versions.
The track features US wordsmith Freddie Gibbs in full flow, and once again build upon lush melodies and samples galore to show why The Avalanches are really bloody needed right about now to make the sun shine more than ever.
The Avalanches returned this year with the mesmeric follow-up to 2000’s ‘Since I Left You’ in the form of ‘Wildflower’ – playing sets at Field Day and Wildlife to celebrate. It seems we won’t have to wait long to catch them again either, with the band seemingly confirming an appearance at Glastonbury next year in a now-deleted tweet. Oh Twitter, you devils.
