The Big Moon are back, with a brand new banger and news of their debut album.
Their latest “oh bloody hell, that’s a bit special” moment comes in the form of ‘Formidable’, which just got a debut spin from Annie Mac on her BBC Radio One show. Less in your face than previous bangers ‘Cupid’ or ‘Silent Movie Susie’, it starts quietly but soon lives up to its name. You can check it out below and read our review here. It’s also on our Brand New Bangers Spotify playlist here – follow that to get the best new music, constantly updated, as it happens.
One of the most exciting new bands in the world right now (yes, we do get to decide that – Ed), it’s another statement from the four piece’s debut record. Titled ‘Love In The 4th Dimension’, that’s set to be released on April 7th. If you want to know more about that, you can read our cover feature from in the studio here, and introduce yourself to a gang who are going to dominate your new year.
Speaking about the album, Juliette Jackson eplains: “We spent twelve gorgeous summer days in the studio hanging out with the brilliant producer and super babe Catherine Marks, experimenting and noodling and shredding and hitting things until all the right noises happened at once.
“We’ve been playing these songs for two years now, and it’s a dream come true to finally immortalise them on record. It’s like having eleven tiny babies all at once, all with their own little faces and voices and personalities, and now we’re ready to throw them out of our nest and into your ears.”
‘Formidable’ is set to get a limited edition 7” release on January 13th. The Big Moon are off on tour in the US with The Japanese House this month.
