Damon Albarn has revealed that a new album from The Good, the Bad & the Queen is in the works.
The supergroup – made up of Damon, Paul Simonon from The Clash, Simon Tong from The Verve, and Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen – have released just one album back in 2007, and haven’t played live together since 2011. Speaking to Zane Lowe on his Beats1 show, Damon said the album is “an ode to the North of England, bizarrely. It’s sort of set in Blackpool, between Starr Gate and Uncle Tom’s Cabin, if you want to be geographically precise.” The record will be produced by David Bowie’s right hand man Tony Visconti.
