Inspired by Athens-born director Yorgos Lanthimos’ dark 2009 parable Dogtooth, The Orielles have shared new track ‘Let Your Dogtooth Grow’.
A breezily infectious slice of dreamily driving janglepop, it shows the Halifax three-piece have even more tricks up their sleeve than their lengthy, noisily funky debut ‘Sugar Tastes Like Salt’ and the wonky charm of ‘I Only Bought It For The Bottle’ would suggest.
It’s not the first time they’ve drawn inspiration from a film, telling Dork back in May that ‘…Bottle’ came from Nicolas Winding Refn’s horrific, often hilarious The Neon Demon.
Produced by FKA Twigs and Björk (not to mention HMLTD, Sampha, White Lies…) producer Marta Salogni, it’s the latest taste we’ve had of their forthcoming full-length ‘Silver Dollar Moment’, expected early next year on the legendary Heavenly, and arrives just as Esmé, Henry and Sidonie are due to set off for a few UK tour dates.
You can have a listen to the single below, then check out the dates just under the player. Or you could do it the other way around. We’re not stopping you.
