The Strokes are currently 4/1 to headline Glastonbury next year, apparently

Is the new album coming? No idea, mate.

It’s still a whole year away, but there are already betting odds about for who’s going to headline next year’s Glastonbury.

According to Betway, leading the way are Led Zeppelin at 2/1, followed by Fleetwood Mac (3/1), The Beach Boys (4/1), The Stone Roses (4/1), and – probs the most interesting name here – The Strokes (4/1).

The New York band have been teasing their new album for ages now, with guitarist Nick Valensi claiming back in 2016 that “we are working on music and we want to hopefully put music out next year,” followed by Albert Hammond Jr. saying they “are not in the studio recording” last summer.

Could it be coming next year, then? Who knows.

Other names in the running include Britney Spears (20/1), Robbie Williams (25/1), The Spice Girls (33/1) and Cher (50/1). Yes please, Glastonbury.

Betway’s Alan Alger says: “Emily Eavis has previously spoken about her dream of getting Led Zeppelin to headline Glastonbury, and this year the odds suggest there’s a good chance of that becoming a reality at 2/1.

“Fallow years are always hot for stirring headline rumours and over the last few months punters have begun to latch onto the likes of Fleetwood Mac at 3/1, as well as The Beach Boys and The Stone Roses at 4/1.”
